Jake Bruner '23, Editor: News
Jake Bruner is a Junior at The Dwight School. During his 12th year at Dwight, he is exploring his various interests and creative sparks through his writing in the newspaper. Outside of his classes, he spends his free time learning new things and exploring his creative interests. One notable passion is music, which he explores through learning classical piano repertoire and composing music. His work in the newspaper reflects his process of understanding the natural world in his own way. Self-admittedly, he contributes almost selfishly because communicating a concept to others helps him deepen his own understanding. He writes various articles on a variety subjects; some articles follow a more fact-based attempt at disseminating information or depicting current events, whereas some of his writing takes a more opinionated approach. For these reasons, he frequents the Opinion and News sections, wherein he attempts to reach people with his writing. Overall, he intends to use writing as a tool to evoke emotion and provoke thought among the readers of his work.
